There is a local date palm whose fruit is used for eating, it is very tasty and is also full of nutritional properties. The people of the village consume it. But now it is becoming extinct.
Its nutritional value helps in maintaining good health of the villagers. Also, many products are made from its leaves which are made and sold by the villagers themselves.
But due to its scarcity and the new generation people in the villages not knowing the art of making it, they do not appreciate it.
In cities, dates like its elder brother are available which are sold both in raw and dried form.
It should be promoted from the viewpoint of biodiversity and people's livelihood and health.
The people of the village should also continue to promote their traditional natural trees and plants and work towards increasing their source of income from it.
